And his name is Brian.
The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium has recently welcomed a 4-year-old greater one-horned rhino, who arrived on April 9, from the Center for Conservation of Tropical Ungulates, an Association of Zoos and Aquariums sustainability partner located in Florida.
Columbus Zoo animal care staff, along with a staff veterinarian, and facilities team members, traveled with Brian to ensure that he arrived safely.
Once listed as an endangered species, the greater one-horned rhino has seen a steady population increase thanks to strict government protection. ....

The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium’s board of directors said they’re working with elected officials to provide transparency about tax levy spending and considering changes to how the board operates.

The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium announced the opening of the new Suzie Edwards Conservation Education Classrooms Tuesday.
With a focus on enriching the lives of Ohio children, the zoo has expanded.
In 2017, Suzie Edwards, a former teacher, key zoo supporter and lifelong advocate for children, made this dream a reality with a monetary gift to the zoo’s Connecting People and Wildlife Campaign which created the opportunity to construct the building.
Appropriately named the Suzie Edwards Conservation Education Classrooms, this new 7,913-square-foot, single-story building is located at the Zoo’s main entrance.
This location allows easy access for program participants and families. ....
