Share Updated: 9:36 PM CDT Jul 15, 2021 WVTM 13 Digital A strong thunderstorm brought lots of rain and lightning to Birmingham and caused a busy street to flood.WVTM13 Chief Meteorologist Jerry Tracey says two thunderstorms merged and became one big storm right over downtown Birmingham in the 7 p.m. hour.The Birmingham Police Department reported only one street closure due to flooding, and that s Abraham Woods Jr. Blvd North at 31st Street North.While a WVTM 13 News crew was there, we noticed first responder crews helping a motorist from a stranded car out of the water, and onto a dry area.Birmingham police officers are on site, to control traffic in the area. ....
