Johnson locks in a side headlock takeover, but Ali rises to the corner, and Johnson offers a clean break. Johnson knocks Ali down with a shoulder block, and Ali kips up. Ali whips Johnson down after a handshake and hits a strong kick to the back. Johnson responds with a dropkick after bouncing off the ropes. Johnson elevates off the corner and trades standing switches with Ali. ....
What even is Resident Evil anymore? The franchise has suffered an identity crisis since Resident Evil 6 (which resembled a Michael Bay movie with zombies more than anything else), consistently shuffling around protagonists, embracing a first-person perspective, and introducing super-powered human beings in the vein of Paul W.S. Anderson’s divisive film adaptations, only to do nothing with those characters in subsequent games, unsure if it wants to go in a new direction untethered from its original plot or not. All of this was racing through my mind after my first Lycan encounter in Resident Evil Village. The series has been shying away from zombies for years now, so it’s to be admired that a group of creatives would come along and shake things up to such a puzzling but awesome degree. The various viruses over mainline entries and spinoffs have caused all matters of monstrous transformations, so when you’re on the eighth numerical game still with no clear ....
– According to a report from Voices of Wrestling (via Fightful), AEW wrestler Ricky Starks is currently out with a fractured neck injury. Per the report, Starks is expected to miss three months of in-ring action. Fightful added in its own report that Starks’ injury is a “slight fracture,” and he will be able to stay on television in some capacity. Also, the issue reportedly does not require surgery. Last month, during a match with Hangman Page on the April 21 episode of AEW Dynamite, Ricky Starks appeared to have landed awkwardly on his neck during during the German Suplex spot in the match. Starks wrote on Twitter the next day, “I’m good! Thank you DDP Yoga for my flexibility.” ....
NJPW Strong Streamed May 7, 2021 on New Japan World Kevin Kelly and Alex Koslov checked in on commentary to note how we are on the Collision 2021 Tour. They ran down the card. Oddly, we didn’t see visuals of either Kelly or Koslov… 1. The DKC and Kevin Knight vs. Adrian Quest and Barrett Brown. The DKC and Brown started out with some mat work. Brown took control with a chin-lock, but The DKC worked his way out and the two re-centered in the middle of the ring. Quest and Knight then tagged in. Knight worked a headlock on Quest. Quest eventually took control with an arm-lock. Quest hit a springboard splash for a two-count. Quest then hit some forearms, but Brown tagged in and Brown hit a dropkick to Knight’s face. Knight hit a hell of a good-looking dropkick for a two-count. The DKC then tagged in and worked a rear chin-lock. ....
