Thomas Murphy, rector of the Church of St. Paul and Incarnation, has accepted a new assignment as pastor of an Episcopalian church in suburban Maryland. Murphy, a Jersey City native who was a parishioner at the Duncan Avenue church before entering the seminary 20 years ago, became rector of the then St. Paul’s in Bergen, in 2013.
