After a grueling seven-week Regular Season, eight teams remain in the running for the MPL Philippines Season 7 championship.
Blacklist International and Aura PH emerged atop their respective groups while Bren Esports and Smart Omega needed to end their shaky campaigns on a strong note to assure themselves a spot in the upper bracket.
Blacklist is set for a collision course against tormentor Bren even as Aura is slated to battle Omega in best-of-five matches.
While Blacklist and Aura are tabbed to prevail, the playoffs are seen as a different beast as Bren and Omega are also eyeing the shorter route to the chip.

Jaypee “Jaypee” Dela Cruz and Benedict “Bennyqt” Gonzales carried the streaking hot Aura PH to a 2-0 sweep over Laus Playbook Esports and back to the top of Group A in the MPL Philippines Season 7 on Sunday, May 9.
Veteran jungler-turned-tank Jaypee stepped up with his Chou in the first game before star gold laner Bennyqt on his Alice sparked the momentum-shifting team fight victory in the series clincher.
Aura snagged its fourth straight win and regained the solo lead in Group A with 24 points on a 9-2 series record.
The boys of coaches Michael Angelo “Arcadia” Bocado and Steven “DaleDalus” Vitug also came agonizingly close to securing a spot in the MPL Playoffs upper bracket.

Aura PH stood taller against old rival Onic PH in their first El Clasico matchup in the MPL Philippines Season 7, posting a 2-0 sweep to wrest the solo second spot in their group on Friday night, April 16.
Aura flaunted its mastery of its signature feeding Diggie strategy in the first game before its “AngeLing” and Natalia picks paid off in the crunch time of the second game.
The Seasons 4 and 5 champion team broke the deadlock with the two-time runner-up at No. 2 in Group A as Aura improved to eight points (3-1 series win-loss record) behind Work Auster Force.

Eyeing to reclaim the MPL Philippines crown, Aura Philippines tapped former Smart Omega coach Steven “Dale” Vitug as its strategic coach for Season 7 which will fire off on March 19.
Aura PH made the surprising reveal through a video that also showed its full roster for the upcoming season of Moonton’s professional league for its mobile MOBA game.
“Just when you thought you’ve seen everything, you’re wrong. We had someone to join us at the very last minute. We’re hyped to announce that Coach Dale is now a part of our team,” the team said in the caption.
