For the last nine months there has been a significant rise in prices for commodities produced right here in Nebraska.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) With soybean, wheat and corn prices on the rise, you may notice a small impact to your wallet. It’s farmers who will see a large benefit.
“For the first time in many years, they’re looking as they go into the fields of spring at a potential profitable year. So, their revenue should go up from from the markets,” Jay Rempe with the Nebraska Farm Bureau said. ....

NEW SEASON: As the growing season heats up, Nebraska Farm Bureau senior economist Jay Rempe sees reasons for optimism in the farm economy, especially in exports. However, he sees less government assistance for agriculture in 2021.
An improvement in the farm economy is forecast, but producers should be ready for anything.
Agriculture has experienced three years in a row of increased income. Jay Rempe, Nebraska Farm Bureau senior economist, calls that trend “remarkable,” especially when you consider that last May and June, the country was in unknown territory in light of COVID-19.
Rempe told a virtual audience attending the 2021 Ag Economic Outlook meeting, sponsored by NEFB, that the ag economy had a huge slowdown at that time, but it has since turned around and made remarkable gains. ....
