Hinewai Anderson on the end of a caber demonstrates the power that made her the overall winner in the women s section of the Highland Games complementing the pipe band competitions in Palmerston North. The overall men’s winner on the day was Adam Miller, who won the New Zealand Rural Games competition in March, with Hinewai Anderson taking out the women’s section. The band winners for the set competition were the Manawatū Scottish No 1 in grade 1, Hamilton Caledonian Society in grade 2, City of Tauranga in grade 3 and Papakura in grade 4.
