Athletic Round Table Luncheon: Coach Points Out Sacrifices Made by Two-Sport Athletes

Many coaches at Monday’s Santa Barbara Athletic Round Table’s Press Luncheon were eager to highlight the dedication of their student-athletes this season especially those who are playing multiple sports at the same time.
“I see first hand the things these kids have to go through everyday, and it really is a testament to the athletes and the sacrifices that they’re making for their teams,” said Dos Pueblos softball coach Mike Gerken. “I hope all coaches recognize the sacrifices that all of your two-sport athletes are going through right now.” ....

Boy donates 200 care packages to Watford General Hospital workers


Watford General Hospital received 200 care packages from a charitable 8-year-old boy.
Archie Little, 8, ran 25 miles in seven days to not only keep himself occupied during lockdown, but to also help out hardworking NHS staff.
After beginning the fundraiser from January 12, £570 to support the West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS trust with requested essentials for NHS workers.
His mother Jenna Hayford said: “He (Archie) is a very giving child, every time we go out when he sees a homeless person, he always wants to give them money, or buy them something to eat.
“Watford are obviously very overworked at the moment and I know they are crying out for bits and bobs, so I thought it would be nice to give them something seeing as they’re giving to the public.” ....

Watford boy donates care packages to West Hertfordshire hospitals


A charitable 8-year-old ran 25 miles in seven days to raise money for Watford General hospital staff.
Archie Little, 8, decided to fuel his lockdown boredom as motivation to not only get active, but also to help out hardworking NHS staff.
After his mum suggested that he runs in the garden to combat his boredom, Archie brought along the idea to run for charity, and his mum suggested that supporting the West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust would be best during the pandemic.
And over ten days starting from January 12, Archie began to run and received over £530 of donations.
