A relaxing weekend on an island that feels far from Dubai… While the airports remain eerily quiet, it seems people haven’t forgone the idea of a restful break. Many Dubai hotels are operating at their maximum capacity, which is currently 80 per cent as outlined by Dubai government. Bluewaters’ one and only hotel, Caesars Palace Dubai, is one of those popular properties. The chic family-friendly spot is a hive of socially distanced activity when we arrive to check in for the weekend. We’re welcomed with unfaultable hospitality, just as you would expect from a five-star resort. Our room is ocean-facing and the view relaxes us from the minute we open the door. There’s a cosy balcony with a chaise lounge which proves to be the perfect spot for getting lost in a novel as the sun begins to set. A free-standing bath also looks out to the sea, and the swaying palm trees almost convince us we’re on a tropical island somewhere far from Dubai. ....

MSCI said it designed its first suite of country-specific thematic indexes to better enable investors to capitalise on long-term, structural change in technology, the environment, society and lifestyle in the world’s second-biggest economy. The launch comes after Beijing in March formalised its 14th five-year plan focusing on high-quality, sustainable development, as the economy continues its shift toward reliance on domestic consumption and innovation and away from exports. ....

The fantasy genre is always there to push the boundaries of our imagination. Fantasy films capture the mystical and the magical like in the Harry Potter series. They tell us the stories of myths and folklore like in many of the works of Guillermo del Toro. They introduce us to creatures that will haunt or nightmares like It, or that we’ll love to buy merch from like My Neighbor Totoro. And mostly; they let us explore entire imaginary worlds like the world of Lord of the Rings or Avatar. As the last example proves; the genre can change the course of cinema, because obviously some of these new worlds need to be experienced in new ways so that we can fully emerge in them. This is also why animation is such a great medium to tell fantasy stories on, because the possibilities are endless. ....
