Romance authors and fans teamed up to support Georgia Democrats. Here’s the story.

Before Stacey Abrams was well known for running for Georgia governor and then organizing and mobilizing Georgia’s Black voters, she was a known romance novelist, publishing under the pen name Selena Montgomery. And the community of romance authors, readers, bloggers and podcasters known informally as “Romancelandia” have backed her and other Democrats.
Before the November election, a pair of romance podcasters organized a weekly phone bank on behalf of Democrats in swing states, in which 300 volunteers made an estimated 300,000 calls to get out the vote.
