She and her husband, Steve, raised four children north of town before moving into the village six years ago.A graduate of Spring Arbor University, with a bachelor degree in education and a masters in counseling, Searls was a teacher in Union City for 19 years before joining the Branch Intermediate School District ....

A graduate of Spring Arbor University, with a bachelor degree in education and a masters in counseling, Searles was a teacher in Union City for 19 years before joining the Branch Intermediate School District as a Career Development Coordinator.
Her board experience includes the Union City Community School Board and the Michigan School Counselor Association. She has served on many sub-committees for the Michigan Department of Education through the Office of Career and Technical Education, and she currently serves on the Community Foundation’s Scholarship committee as well. ....
