It’s like they don’t count,” Francise Dobmeier said. “That’s how I feel right now.” Dobmeier’s mother was a resident of Saskatoon Convalescent Home. She died on Jan. 20 after testing positive for COVID-19. CEO Donna Bleakney said an outbreak was first declared on Jan. 6. As of Thursday, 26 residents and 22 staff had tested positive; 12 residents and 15 staff had since recovered. Eight residents died. “Our thoughts and heartfelt sympathy go out to the family members of the residents,” Bleakney wrote in an email. ....
