Ufone awarded license for 4G services

Pak Telecom Mobile Limited or PTML which is commonly known as Ufone in Pakistan has been awarded a Next Generation Mobile Services (NGMS) 2021 license. NGMS license mean now Ufone will also be able to offer 4G services to its customers. Now all telecom operators in Pakistan have 4G licenses. Govt to auction 3G, 4G spectrum for AJK, GB

The government has decided to auction spectrum for Next Generation Mobile Services (NGMS), such as 3G and 4G, in Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication Syed Aminul Haque announced it on Thursday. Haque said that the policy directive for the ‘first’ auction of mobile broadband spectrum has been issued. The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority has issued a notification, inviting Pakistani and foreign investors to take part in the auction. The spectrum up for grab is in 1800MHz and 2100MHz bands. ISLAMABAD: The government on Friday ordered import of 200,000 tonnes of sugar to build strategic reserves and increased the prices of wheat flour, ghee and sugar by up to 53pc for sale through the Utility Stores Corporation (USC).
The decisions were taken at a meeting of the federal cabinet’s Economic Coordi­nation Committee (ECC), which was presided over by Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin and was attended by only two other members of the 14-member ECC.
The ECC also allowed import of 200,000 bales of cotton to meet requirements of the textile industry and made about Rs116 billion non-cash book adjustment in various public sector power producers to contain circular debt. ....
