SAGINAW, MI A judge has found a Saginaw County man who fatally stabbed his roommate and removed his heart to have been insane when he committed the grisly deed, and the victim’s family is not happy with the outcome of his trial.
Morgan D. Notestine, 46, on the afternoon of Tuesday, March 9, appeared via Zoom from the Saginaw County Jail before Saginaw County Circuit Judge Manvel Trice III. Notestine waived his right to a jury trial, opting to proceed with a bench trial in which Trice would serve as the sole determiner of fact. ....

SAGINAW, MI More than two years since he allegedly killed his roommate and removed his heart, a Saginaw County man is on the cusp of standing trial. However, the issue of his sanity is causing the trial to take an unusual format.
The trial of Morgan D. Notestine, 46, will take place at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, March 9. Saginaw County Circuit Judge Manvel Trice III is to preside, with the proceeding being a bench trial rather than a jury trial.
