LENOX â All roadblocks are cleared for the new owners of the Days Inn by Wyndham on Pittsfield Road (Route 7/20) to renovate and expand the site into a boutique hotel with limited bar service and entertainment for guests. The Select Board unanimously approved an all-alcohol hotel license and an entertainment license for LH Manager Northeast LLC, leaseholder and operator for Ross Group Development LLC of Tulsa, Okla., which is purchasing the real estate for $1,950,000 from Lalji Inc. The costs of renovation, addition of five guest rooms for a total of 65 units, and the new amenities represent an investment of up to $8 million, according to Charles Snyder of the Ross Group. ....
LENOX â The townâs zoning board has approved a renovation and expansion of the Days Inn motel off Pittsfield Road (Route 7/20) by a developer under contract to purchase the property for $1,950,000, part of a proposed total investment of up to $10 million. The project would add five guest rooms to an upscaled 60-unit motel, create an enhanced lobby and registration area, and add a bar and light-fare restaurant. Ahead of the 5-0 vote, Zoning Board of Appeals member Albert Harper declared that the applicant for a revised special permit and site plan approval had demonstrated that the âcommunity needs greatly outweigh any detrimental effectâ to the Twelve Oaks Village retirement community on a hillside above the motel, built in the early 1970s as the Susse Chalet. ....
LENOX â A family-run New York City-based firm that operates boutique hotels and short-term stay rentals has purchased the Apple Tree Inn, a 34-room bed-and-breakfast across from Tanglewood that originally was a 19th-century estate and briefly was owned in the 1970s by Alice Brock of Alice s Restaurant Massacree fame. Aries Living purchased the property at 10 Richmond Mountain Road from Sharon A. Walker for $2.4 million, according to documents filed at the Berkshire Middle District Registry of Deeds in Pittsfield. But, the total purchase price, with inventory and business assets included, is $2.7 million, according to the listing provided by Stone House Properties of West Stockbridge. ....
