During a recent interview with Auto News, president of global forecasting at LMC Automotive, Jeff Schuster, suggested that the ICE-powered Escalade will remain in production until 2029, just prior to the automaker’s transition to an EV-only brand in 2030. Schuster said that General Motors will probably build similar SUVs to the Escalade albeit with electric powertrains and sell them alongside existing ICEs. In fact, GM’s Factory Zero plant in Detroit is expected to begin producing electric SUVs the size of the Escalade and Escalade ESV in 2023. While Cadillac wants to be selling nothing other than electric vehicles from 2030, Schuster added that this date could be pushed further out or even pulled forward if the traditional Escalade is phased out earlier than expected. ....
