- April 16, 2021, 9:48 AM Cirrus Aircraft has named Gary Jet Center (GJC) in Indiana as an authorized service center. As part of the designation, the Part 145 repair station will have technicians trained on the airframer’s SR-series piston singles and SF50 Vision jet. The MRO will offer a full range of services on the Duluth, Minnesota-based OEM’s aircraft, including scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, as well as composite and paint repair, warranty support, Garmin and Avidyne avionics service, and air conditioning service using Cirrus parts. “For nearly 30 years, Gary Jet Center has been performing maintenance on a variety of aircraft…and to secure this relationship with Cirrus is a tremendous addition to our offerings,” said GJC director of maintenance Jeff McLain. “We look forward to providing service and support to Cirrus owners in the Chicagoland area and beyond.” ....
Lipless crankbait time at Lake Guntersville Updated Feb 24, 2021; Lake Guntersville is famed for the late winter/early spring vibrating crankbait bite, so much so that several national tournaments dedicated to use of those lures are held on the lake annually the annual Rat-L-Trap Classic was held there this past weekend. But prior to that event, which drew over 160 anglers, the MLF Toyota Series visited the lake, and the winning angler in this event also relied on a vibrating crankbait though not a Rat-L-Trap. Jimmy Washam of Covington, Tennessee, brought a five-bass limit to the scale weighing 18 pounds, 15 ounces last Friday to win the three-day Toyota Series Tournament. Washam led the event wire-to-wire. His three-day total of 15 bass weighing 58-5 earned him the win by a 5-pound, 10-ounce margin over second-place angler Sloan Pennington of Childersburg, Alabama . Washam earned the top payout of $55,650 in the first tournament of the Central Division. ....

MLF Pro Circuit angler Jimmy Washam brought a five-bass limit to the scale Friday weighing 18-15 to win the Lake Guntersville Central Toyota Series with a three-day total of 58-05. Washam prevailed by a 5-10 margin over runner-up Sloan Pennington and earned $55,600. Washam said day 1 was a grind, with only two fish in his livewell by noon; however, he just happened to land on them later in the day. I went back to an earlier spot Id fished and they were just turned on, he said. They were trying to take the [bladed jig] out of my hand. I caught the 7-05 and the 4 in the last 10 minutes. ....
