Broken Arrow Public Schools partnered with St. Francis to hold a vaccine event for students Wednesday.
St. Francis says it started partnering with schools at the beginning of June to get students vaccinated and so far, they’ve been able to vaccinate more than 1,200 students across Green Country. They say around 175 students and adults got the Pfizer vaccine at the Broken Arrow Performing Arts Center today and they will come back to get their second dose on July 28th.
The vaccine event was open to anyone, but a parent or guardian had to be there for students between the ages of 12-17. St. Francis says a big majority of the people they saw today were under the age of 17. We spoke with several Broken Arrow Students today who say being vaccinated makes them feel more comfortable heading back to school this fall.
