COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State field hockey team celebrated its Senior Day with a resounding 6-0 win over Indiana, keyed by the play of sophomore Mackenzie Allessie, who had her second hat trick in as many games this weekend.
“It was a great way to celebrate Senior Day and for this team and honor our seniors,” said head coach Jarred Martin. “To win again at home with a shutout is a great indicator of what we did on the offensive end creating shots but also how our team worked together on defense to limit chances.”
Allessie, a sophomore from Mount Joy, Pa., had two first-half goals and another in the fourth quarter to finish off a weekend in which she scored six times. Other Buckeye goal scorers on Sunday were seniors Sammy Stone and Niki Trzaska along with freshman Lotte Algra. ....

Ohio State played a pair of hard-fought overtime games last weekend at No. 5 Northwestern but dropped them both by the scores of 4-3 and 3-2, respectively.
Ohio State is 0-7 on the year with all seven of their games coming against teams ranked in the top-12 of this week’s NFHCA poll.
Six of Ohio State’s seven games have been decided by one goal and three have gone to overtime.
