Female-focused co-working space opens in Helena

The Virago Collaborative, a female-focused co-working space, has opened atÂ 1336 Helena Ave. in Helenaâs historic Midtowne District.
The business was founded in late 2019 by Mercedes Bawden, Julia Bryant, Onawa Linden, Reagen Lozar and Stacey Otterstrom in what organizers said was a move to elevate women personally and professionally and build a support network for Montana women.
Virago includes entrepreneurs and a professional business coach, as well as women who work in event management, health care reform and marketing firms, Bryant said. There are also people who work in other establishments and chose to work remotely.
âThe Virago Collaborative offers women in our community a productive place to work, and is a space to engage with their peers, grow their businesses or careers, pursue their passions and feel supported,â Bryant said. ....

Professor Emerita of Social Work Wynetta Devore was a teacher and scholar whose life focused on serving God, the Syracuse community where she lived and that she loved, and students she taught during her decadeslong distinguished career.
She received an undergraduate degree in 1951 from Hope College in Holland, Michigan, pursuing her M.S.W. and doctorate in education at the State University of New Jersey. She worked in several public welfare programs and taught at Kean College, New Jersey. She subsequently joined the faculty at Rutgers University.
In 1980, she joined Syracuse University’s School of Social Work where she taught foundational courses including Human Diversity, Human Behavior in the Social Environment and Foundations of Social Work Practice. She was a consistent advocate for ensuring that the School of Social Work was a model program for student ....

The complex mechanics determining how galaxies spin, grow, cluster and die have been revealed following the release of all the data gathered during a massive seven-year astronomy research project led by scientists at the University of Sydney.
The astronomers observed 13 galaxies at a time, building to a total of 3068, using a custom-built instrument called the Sydney-AAO Multi-Object Integral-Field Spectrograph (SAMI), connected to the 4-metre Anglo-Australian Telescope (AAT) at Siding Spring Observatory in New South Wales. The telescope is operated by the Australian National University. ....
