LOS ANGELES Marc Copage was one of television s first Black child stars in the U.S. Back in 1968, he was chosen to play Diahann Carroll s son on the groundbreaking sitcom, Julia. For all three seasons of the series, Copage played Corey Baker, the son of a nurse whose husband died in Vietnam.
Julia was the first television series to star an African American woman in a non-stereotypical role. The show tackled some serious issues, including racism, but Copage says the show was considered controversial for other reasons. ....

Andreottis plan to rebuild historic HMB barn

After a fire flattened the historic Andreotti barn earlier this month, owner Terry Andreotti says the family plans to temporarily relocate its farmstand and will rebuild the old barn.
âWeâre going to continue, and this history will go on,â Andreotti said. âWeâre here for the tourists, the city and the people who live here.â
The cause of the fire on Kelly Avenue is still under investigation, although Andreotti said it may have been an electrical fire.
The family set up a crowdfunding effort to help raise money for a rebuild with the same floor plan and look. Andreotti said their barnâs insurance will cover some of the initial costs to get started, and that the city and their farming neighbors have been supportive. ....
