Enough is Enough : Protest Held in Dover as Over 400 Boat Migrants Land

31 May 2021 Over 400 illegal boat migrants landed in the space of 24 hours as a protest was held in Dover against the growing migration crisis in the English Channel. On Saturday, some 144 migrants were recorded landing on British soil, following 336 landing on Friday, according to BBC reporter Simon Jones. While migrants were being escorted by the British Border force through the Port of Dover, where they were brought ashore to be processed by immigration officials, police made four arrests of anti-immigration activists during a protest in the English coastal town. Protesters staged a sit-in on Snargate Street, blocking off the road for at least an hour, waving flags, carrying banners reading “Stop the Invasion”, and chanting “enough is enough”.

Friends and family of murdered PCSO Julia James go for dog walk in her memory

13:47 EDT, 19 May 2021 14 shares The friends and family of murdered police community support officer Julia James today took a walk of peace in her memory through the village where she was attacked. The remote community of Aylesham, Kent has been in mourning since the PCSO was found dead in Akholt Wood, close to her home in Snowdown, Kent, last month. Grandmother-of-one Ms James, 53, was attacked and killed whilst walking her dog Toby.   Her loyal Jack Russell stayed with her body until she was discovered by members of the public shortly after 4pm on April 27. She was allegedly killed by Callum Wheeler, 21, of Aylesham, Kent, who has been charged with her murder and is due to stand trial later this year. 

Cumbria Police assist in Julia James murder inquiry

DETECTIVES from Cumbria Police have been involved with the investigation into the murder of PCSO Julia James. Kent Police have confirmed that two detectives from Cumbria Constabulary have been supporting officers from Kent as part of “national mutual aid” provided to the force. Ms James was found dead in Akholt Wood, just a few 100 yards from her home in Snowdown, Kent, on April 27, with her Jack Russell dog Toby by her side unharmed. The exact nature of the work the Cumbrian officers have been undertaking has not yet been revealed due to the fact the investigation remains live. A 21-year-old man charged with the murder of PCSO Julia Jame appeared at Maidstone Crown Court on Thursday morning via videolink from Belmarsh.
