Community boost with new training initiatives

A training programme with the aim of strengthening local development in communities around Sligo was launched on Friday last. Innovating Communities is an initiative which aims to encourage rural populations to open their minds to new ideas and ways of working. It is intended that the project will operate through a Design Thinking type process which will put people at the heart of decision making and idea generation. It s expected that a total of 102 training courses with up to 900 participants will be delivered across six regions over two and a half years. Two LEADER Labs will be developed as part of the project in each area and will become focal project delivery spaces.
