The Institute for Government (IfG), whose leadership includes the former Conservative cabinet minister David Lidington and the former Labour science minister Lord Sainsbury, will call on the prime minister to set up a statutory public inquiry in May, with hearings to start in September. ....
A new hub will help pregnant, new and bereaved mothers. Dozens of new mental health hubs are being set up to help thousands of new, expectant and bereaved mothers and Island mothers will be among the first to benefit. NHS England said new hubs being set up across the country will bring together maternity services, reproductive health and psychological therapy, offering care and treatment for a wide range of mental health issues including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) or severe fear of childbirth. Other issues new mums may be experiencing include distress following perinatal loss (including early miscarriage, recurrent miscarriage, stillbirth, neonatal death or termination of a baby), and separation at birth. ....
Source:  INGimage More than nine in 10 nursing staff have received their first Covid-19 vaccine, according to a new survey from the Royal College of Nursing which suggested the gap between NHS and non-NHS staff being vaccinated has narrowed significantly. But despite this progress, the union warned that disparities across settings still existed and that a small number of nurses had not been offered a jab at all. Findings from the RCN’s survey of more than 20,000 nursing staff showed that as of 6 April, 94% had received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine and nearly two-thirds (62%) had received both doses. ....
(Image: PA WIRE) A NEW mental health hub is being set up in Hampshire to help thousands of new, expectant and bereaved mothers, NHS leaders have announced. The new hub will be one of 26 that are being set up across the country to bring together maternity services, reproductive health and psychological therapy under one roof. NHS England said that the Hampshire hub will be up and running within months. It is expected by the end of 2021-22 around 6,000 women will receive care and treatment for a wide range of mental health issues from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) after giving birth to others with a severe fear of childbirth. ....
