Police investigate dead body found in Zeigler ZEIGLER, Ill. (WSIL) The Zeigler Police Department is investigating after discovering a dead body Monday morning. Police chief Ben Burkhamer says officers responded to a residence in the 200 block of Station Street around 9 a.m. When police arrived, they discovered a 43-year old White man s body inside, Burkhamer said. The man s name is not being released, pending notification to next of kin. Burkhamer says that could take time because the victim was a homeless man. Burkhamer deferred questions on the cause of death to Franklin County coroner Marty Leffler, who was unavailable for comment.
