Building-size mural to be dedicated at Evelyn K. Davis Center on July 9 Friday, July 2, 2021 10:36 AM The Evelyn K. Davis Center for Working Families will host a dedication ceremony on July 9 for a new mural to be unveiled on its building at the DMACC Urban Campus in Des Moines. The bigger-than-life mural, created by local artist Jill Wells, honors the legacy of the late J. Barry Griswell, former chairman and CEO of Principal Financial Group and retired CEO of the Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines. The Davis Center, a workforce training and financial literacy resource center, moved into the 23,000-square-foot building at 1171 7th St. in the fall of 2019 after DMACC purchased and renovated the facility.
