The fair is preparing for its ninth edition at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre this month, in the midst of a pandemic and in the shadow of the national security law passed in Hong Kong by the Chinese government last June. Asked about how the law might affect the fair, Ooi is sanguine. ‘There’s been a lot of speculation about it,’ she says. ‘But we haven’t been told to do anything differently.’ ....
