Three Madison County teens are charged with eight felony crimes each after four motorists traveling along a busy state highway reported their vehicles were hit by rocks. The rock throwing occurred shortly before and after 10 a.m. Sunday along Georgia Highway 98 just east of Ila, according to Madison County sheriff’s reports. The windshields on all four vehicles were either shattered or fractured by the rocks, deputies said. “Dangerous things can happen if you hit a car going down the road at 60 mph. It could quickly turn into a fatality very easy,” sheriff’s Capt. Jimmy Patton said Tuesday. Most of the vehicles were driven by people from out of the county, including two residents of Jefferson and one from Alpharetta, Patton said. ....
