WELLSVILLE Jones Memorial Hospital’s $16.8 million Transformation Grant has revealed a misdiagnosis of the zoning district map in the Village of Wellsville.
As the hospital prepares to embark on the start of construction in June, officials discovered part of the project area is currently zoned for residential use rather than commercial. The discrepancy includes the former Haag medical office building and the adjoining parking lot now owned by the hospital. The area is scheduled to be utilized as a staging area for construction crews in the coming months. ....

WELLSVILLE Plans for the Town of Wellsville’s future home on West Hanover Street have been delayed, but not dashed.
Town Supervisor Shad Alsworth announced this week that Alfred State College has reaffirmed its commitment to the project, which calls for Alfred State students to erect the building for the town.
Alsworth said Jeffrey Stevens, dean of the Wellsville campus, met with department heads and curriculum coordinators before recommitting to the project, which was scrapped by COVID-19 in 2020. ....

Janine Mosher and several neighbors attended Wednesday night’s town board meeting to air concerns with traffic in the area. A Walgreens is slated for construction at 4181 Bolivar Rd., and an existing structure on the property has already been demolished to make way for the development. ....
