Paden City Council Holds Special Meeting By Rick Loy - Staff Writer | Mar 17, 2021 The Paden City Common Council held a special meeting on Monday March 8, 2021. The Council met to discuss several issues that were unresolved at the regular monthly meeting. Among the items discussed were funding for the park and pool, discussion of the building at the corner of Main St and South 2nd Ave, appointment of Ballot Commissioners and reconnect fees. The special meeting was called to address concerns shared at the regular council meeting on March 1, 2021. During the March 1st meeting, Councilwoman Tonya Schuller presented council with background information on the pool and needed repairs to open successfully this summer. ....

Myrtle Mabbot was a longtime resident of Pequot Lakes and she enjoyed a lengthy involvement in community work. She was the daughter of Ludwig Mathison, who operated his sawmill near the north end of Sibley Lake, where the public access is located today. In Les Tweed’s Boyhood Memories of Pequot, he referred to Mabbot as “a spoke in the wheel that started the Lake Country Tourist Business.” He said she was very dedicated in the promotion of Pequot Lakes and the community, and was a walking historian on the area. ....
Paden City Discusses Several Important Topics By Randy Rutherford - Staff Writer | Mar 10, 2021 The Paden City Common Council met on Monday March 1, 2021 with all council members present with the exception of Auna Bradey and Bob Kendall. Among the items discussed were the water project update, the sewer project update, spring burning season, funding needed for the Paden City Park and Pool maintenance upgrades, and slip repair. Following the Prayer and Pledge of Allegiance the minutes from the Feburary 1, 2021 meeting were approved. There were no comments by the mayor or citizens so the meeting began with the approval to pay the bills. ....
