James William Thomas Harvey, of Waimate, appeared in the Timaru District Court on Tuesday for sentencing. According to a police summary of facts, Harvey was stopped as he turned left from Belt St into George St “driving across the opposite side of the road in a wide turning circle” on April 10, 2021. “He continued on the wrong side of the road, gradually driving back onto the left-hand side of the road.” .

Jakob Joseph Stachurski, of Geraldine, was disqualified from driving for 15 months when he appeared in Timaru District Court for sentencing on Tuesday. He had earlier pleaded guilty to one charge of driving with excess breath alcohol causing injury. Judge Jim Large told Stachurski that he would take both the fact it was his first offence and his early guilty plea into account.
