“I feel absolutely safe,” said Jocelyn Rudd, a carnival worker from the Grand Rapids area. While her employer had required all workers to remain masked, the majority of fairgoers she interacted with were unmasked in a county that is below the state average for adults who are fully vaccinated. Lynn Francis was one of the oft-overlooked Canadian veterans of the Second World War.
Francis, who died Oct. 11, 2020, at 98, was born Dorothy Evelyn Hammet a later Glenlawn Collegiate grad who grew up in St. Vital.

At 82, Lynn Francis re-took her oath of citizenship at a citizenship renewal session presided by the Citizenship Judge Arthur Miki held by the United Empire Loyalists Association. The ceremony marked Flag Day in Canada and brought 10 people to the ceremony- Feb 15, 2004

IDAHO FALLS Representatives from the city of Idaho Falls met with members of the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community last week to listen to concerns about recent incidents in the country of attacks on those of AAPI descent.
Mayor Rebecca Casper and Councilman Jim Francis from Idaho Falls joined Pocatello Mayor Brian Blad, along with the police chiefs and human resource directors from both cities, in a phone conference with members of the AAPI community who had invited the city officials to join them for a dialogue about recent national events and their impact on the local AAPI communities. ....
