Lincoln Red Imps crowned champions for 25th time Photo courtesy of Gibraltar FA Lincoln Red Imps claimed their twenty-fifth league title on the final league match of the Gibraltar National League, although, having to find their way around what was a determined Lions defensive display ready to spoil their party again. Lincoln Red Imps now head into Wednesday’s Rock Cup final against Glacis United looking to add to their tally of league and cup doubles. Lincoln Red Imps had missed their chance to claim the title earlier in the week after St Joseph’s forced a draw after a second half comeback. Entering the match two points behind Europa, Lincoln Red Imps required all three points to claim the league title. Anything else would have handed the title to their arch rivals Europa. After Europa’s defeat of Mons Calpe there would have been no difficult calculations required with Lincoln left with just the one option. ....

GFLA warns that more clubs could be lost if prizeshare not agreed 15th December 2020 Following confirmation last week by Europa FC President Peter Cabezutto that his club was not signing the present prizeshare agreement tabled by the GFLA and already signed by the ten remaining clubs in the league the Gibraltar Football League Association (GFLA) have responded publicly to his comments made during an interview with the Chronicle last week. Following a standstill in negotiations the GFLA issued a statement today warning that further clubs could be lost in the league if an agreement is not reached and the league was not made more sustainable through it. ....
