Colquitt Regional to accept unlimited tax-credit contributions

In March 2021, Colquitt Regional cut the ribbon on its new radiation oncology unit, which was largely funded through tax credit contributions. Colquitt Regional is currently accepting pre-applications for unlimited donations through the rural tax credit program. MOULTRIE, Ga. – Colquitt Regional Medical Center began accepting 2021 pre-applications for unlimited contribution amounts through Georgia HEART Rural Tax Credit Program on May 17. 
These will be submitted to the Georgia Department of Revenue in the order in which they are received beginning July 1 at midnight, according to a press release from the hospital. ....

For employees who spend most of their time staring at computers from chairs behind their desks, sitting can be a real occupational hazard.
A Mayo Clinic analysis of 13 studies – examining more than a million people – found sitting more than eight hours a day without physical activity is as potentially fatal as smoking and obesity.
The Heart Foundation cites research that studied 800,000 people’s sitting habits and concluded those who sit the most have dramatically higher disease and death risks: 112% higher diabetes risk, 147% higher heart attack or stroke risk, 90% higher risk of death from a cardiovascular event, and 49% higher risk of death from any cause. ....

Colquitt Regional Medical Center will cut the ribbon on its new radiation oncology unit at the Edwards Cancer Center Wednesday. Pictured is the state-of-the-art linear accelerator, the Elekta Versa HD, which is housed in the treatment chamber of the new unit. This technology is a revolutionary radiation treatment system designed to improve cancer patient care and is now available at the Edwards Cancer Center, the hospital said.
