Patna high court wanted the government to set up a ‘war-room’ to continuously monitor the crisis.
The Bihar government has placed a net on the Ganga in Ranighat, bordering Uttar Pradesh, to prevent the continued flow of bodies of suspected Covid-19 victims from the other state.
Sanjay Jha, Bihar’s water resources minister tweeted that the last rites of 71 bodies of the victims were performed according to the protocols. “We have advised the UP administration to be vigilant,” he said. “Our district administration is keeping vigil too. Advise all to give respect to those dead.” ....

More scenes out of India horrified the world on Monday after it was reported that dozens of dead bodies had drifted onto the banks of the River Ganges in Chausa village in the Buxar district of the eastern state of Bihar.
Now, authorities have apparently placed a net in the river to catch the corpses of the suspected COVID victims.
On Wednesday, Sanjay Kumar Jha, Bihar state minister of Water Resources (WRD) and Information and Public Relations (IPRD) tweeted an update on the handling of the bodies by the state and introduced the plan to spread a net in order to handle the influx of remains. ....

A day after 71 bodies of suspected COVID-19 victims were retrieved from the Ganga at Chausa in Buxar district of Bihar, the authorities on Wednesday spread a big net in the river to catch bodies floating in from the neighbouring Uttar Pradesh.
Taking cognizance of the bodies being found floating in the river, the Patna High Court asked the State government to file an affidavit on it by Thursday. ....

Kadapa: The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (RTC) will offer a 10 percent discount on fares booked 48 hours before boarding of Dolphin, Amravati, Indra, Super Luxury, Ultra Deluxe, and Express buses.
This was stated by Jitendranath Reddy, Regional Manager, RTC. He told reporters on Friday that the concession would be applicable only to passengers traveling to Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Bangalore.
Reservations must be made 48 hours in advance to receive the discount. He said only the first four seats would be discounted. If the Dolphin bus has a capacity of 58 seats, the discount is applicable for five seats only. And the Amravati bus has a capacity of 49 seats, so only five seats will be discounted. ....
