17 Bihar court staff dismissed for corruption

Patna: In a massive crackdown on corruption, the Patna court administration has dismissed 17 court staff from services for taking bribes from litigants and advocates for doing various favours. This is the first time that so many court staffs were fired at a time for indulging in unlawful activities.
All the 17 dismissed staffs were posted with the Patna civil court and earned the ire of the court administration after they were caught on camera collecting bribes from the litigants and their advocates in lieu of giving choice dates for hearing and also forwarding those arrested under liquor laws to the jails of their choice, reports said. ....

3 Bihar Judicial Officers found with women in Nepal hotel, all three dismissed

Patna: Bihar government on Monday dismissed three lower court judges from service for improper conduct. All three judges were found in January 2013 in Kathmandu, Nepal, with a woman in a hotel room. Regarding the same incident, the three judges have been dismissed by the Bihar government.
The judges who have been dismissed by the Bihar government are Hari Niwas Gupta, then Judge of the Family Court of Samastipur, Chief Judicial Magistrate Komal Ram of Araria and Jitendra Nath Singh, the then Additional District and Sessions Judge of Araria. Dismissal of these three from service will be effective from February 12, 2014, when the state government was first dismissed from service without a disciplinary inquiry on the recommendation of Patna High Court. In the notification issued by the state government, it has been clarified that after the dismissal of the three judges from service, not all will be entitled to any kind of facility. ....
