East Coast Railway carries 329 tonnes of Liquid Medical Oxygen through RoRo Service

Bhubaneswar (Odisha) [India] May 4 (ANI): To supply oxygen at the earliest during the current COVID upsurge for saving the life of patients, East Coast Railway has carried 329 tons of Liquid Medical Oxygen (LMO) from different Steel Plants in its jurisdiction towards different states like Maharashtra, Telengana, Haryana and Delhi.
In a release, East Coast Railways on Tuesday said that a total of 187 tonnes of LMO has already been transported from Tata Bhusan Siding in Angul along with 105 tonnes of LMO from Rashtriya ISpat Nigam Limited in Visakhapatnam and 31 tonnes of LMO from Jindal Steel in Angul. ....

With 16 of the 36 districts in Maharashtra witnessing a surge in corona cases, State Chief Secretary Sitaram Kunte, in a letter to Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Gauba on Tuesday, has sought the allocation of an additional 200MTs of oxygen. He has also requested the Centre to allocate 10 LMO (liquid medical oxygen) tankers to enable the state to procure its allocated LMO quota from the steel plant at Angul via the Roll On-Roll Off (RoRo) Oxygen Express.
Kunte’s letter said, “Maharashtra continues to face onslaught of second wave of COVID pandemic with current active caseload of 6,63,758, of which 78,884 cases admitted are on medical oxygen including 24,787 in ICU. Moreover, 16 districts viz Palghar, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Satara, Sangli, Kolhapur, Solapur, Nandurbar, Beed, Parbhani, Hingoli, Amravati, Buldhana, Wardha, Gadchiroli and Chandrapur are showing continuous g ....

NEW DELHI: Railway minister Piyush Goyal on Sunday informed that the Oxygen Express carrying 30.86 metric tonnes (MT) of liquid medical oxygen (LMO) for Covid-19 patients has departed for the national capital from Odisha.

New Delhi [India], May 2 (ANI): Railway Minister Piyush Goyal on Sunday informed that the Oxygen Express carrying 30.86 metric tonnes (MT) of liquid medical oxygen (LMO) for COVID-19 patients has departed for the national capital from Odisha.
In an effort of fulfilling the rising demand for oxygen across the country due to a rampant surge in COVID-19 cases, the Railways launched Oxygen Express to deliver medical oxygen to various states.
