Charity champ has been pounding the pavements to raise money for Ardgowan Hospice

A PORT charity champ has been pounding the pavements to raise money for local cancer patients.
Margaret Watson decided to challenge herself to clock up 50 miles during January to fundraise for Ardgowan Hospice.
She has previously taken on charity challenges for the local good cause, including their Moonlight Walk and Jingle Bell Jog, so she wanted to boost their funds while events weren t happening.
So far the 54-year-old has more than doubled her original target of £300 and has clocked up more miles than she initially set out do to.

Old Spanish Trail Festival to return to Crestview, Florida

CRESTVIEW City officials plan to partner with the nonprofit Main Street Crestview Association to revive the Old Spanish Trail Festival in 2021.
The fest took place in Crestview each spring for many years before it ended more than a decade ago.
City Manager Tim Bolduc told the City Council on Dec. 14 that the COVID-19 pandemic has “leveled the playing field” for Crestview, because while other communities have canceled or postponed various events, Crestview has continued to host many activities.
In partnership with the Main Street organization, city events that took place this year included the Fourth of July celebration and the Fall Festival, as well as more recent events such as the Jingle Bell Jog race and the Christmas parade. ....

Cadiz Presents Jingle Bell Jog Proceeds To Seven Friends w/VIDEO

The annual Jingle Bell Jog raised more than $2,000 for the Seven Friends Scholarship fund.
The presentation was made on the 27th anniversary of the deadliest traffic crash in Trigg County that claimed the lives of Steven Wallace, Joey Rogers, Dale Garner, Jeremy Gordon, Patrick Perry, David Lawrence, and Jesse Lawrence. The accident occurred on December 15, 1993, as the boys were returning to work at Knight and Hale Game Calls after going to Hilltop Market for dinner. Their car drifted across the center line on U.S. 68 and was hit by a truck driven by Steven Richardson. The family of the boys called Seven Friends established a scholarship fund. ....
