Two homes were destroyed in a blaze Monday night in a lakeside housing development in Windsor Township, fire officials said Tuesday.
The fire began in 181 Lakeview Lane and was reported by a neighbor, who alerted the homeowners, about 8:30 p.m., said Jarrod Emes, township emergency management coordinator.
Flames were shooting through the roof when the first crew arrived in Blue Heron Village, formerly known as Christman Lake Homes, off Christman Road just west of Route 143, Emes said.

The flames extended to a neighboring home at 171 Lakeview. Two adults who resided in each home got out safely.
A second alarm was struck to draw additional crews to assist the initial crews from Virginville, Hamburg and other nearby companies.
Santa made a special visit to the Union Fire Company No.1 of Hamburg fire station on Dec. 12 and returns on Dec. 19, from 5 to 8 p.m. Then, Santa rides through town on Dec. 20.
âWeâre trying to make this as normal holiday as possible for everybody considering the circumstances,â said Hamburg deputy chief Jarrod Emes. âFor years weâve had Santa ride on a sleigh or a fire truck through the borough and hand out candy canes. Unfortunately, because of COVID we had to come up with a different solution to help Santa deliver his message and to create a positive holiday spirit throughout the community.â
