Jupiter's Europa may have pockets of water that could support alien life – study


Europa, the fourth largest of Jupiter’s moons, has high odds of being habitable. Past studies suggest that an ocean of liquid water lurks beneath Europa’s 15-mile-thick frozen crust. This extraterrestrial ocean contains salts that prevent water from turning into ice, which makes it ideal for life.
There is evidence of recent geological formations within Europa’s crust, including small, dark, dome-like features called lenticulae. Discovered by the
National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), lenticulae are thought to form above bodies of saline water half a mile to three miles beneath the surface.
To learn more about lenticulae, the researchers developed numerical simulations using images taken using NASA’s Galileo spacecraft, which explored Jupiter and its moons between the 1990s and 2000s. The spacecraft, launched in 1989, spotted lenticulae spattered across  Europa’s surface. ....

A student team of Bharathidasan Institute of Management (BIM), Tiruchi, has secured third rank globally in CAPSIM Spring 2021 challenge that witnessed participation of of numberous B-Schools at the world-level.
The prestigious bi-annual competition witnessed BIM entering the final round along with five other B-Schools: Bar Ilan University of Israel; Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech); Thammasat University, Thailand; University of Georgia (UGA); and Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore.
The BIM team: Harina Thamman, Moanish CS ,Nithin Rajan , and Siva Subramanyam, final year MBA students, who represented the only institution from India in the first three, finds a place in the CAPSIM Hall of fame, BIM Director Asit K Barma, said. ....

When Metter High School Senior Matt Jordan was called to the school to meet with the principal, he wondered what was going on. 
As a dual-enrolled student at Georgia Southern and a work-based learning participant, Matt has had no classes on the MHS campus during his senior year, so he was really confused as to why he had been summoned. 
He walked in and saw MHS Principal Ellis Strobridge with a serious look on his face. 
Matt thought to himself, “OK, what have I done?”
After a few moments, Strobridge broke into a grin and told the young man that he was being named the STAR student for the MHS Class of 2021!  ....
