Judicial commission to probe Usman Kakar's death - Pakistan

QUETTA: The Balochis­tan government has set up a two-member judicial com­mi­ssion to investigate the death of former senator and provincial president of Pakhtun­khwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) Usman Khan Kakar.
Family members and PkMAP leaders have clai­med that Usman Kakar, who died in a private hospital in Karachi on June 23, 2021, was murdered under a conspiracy. They demanded an inq­uiry into the matter through a judicial commission.
Balochistan Chief Minis­ter Jam Kamal Alyani, who went to Muslim Bagh with his cabinet members on Sunday, condoled the death of the former senator with his son and other family members and assured that an inquiry would be conducted to ascertain the cause of the death. ....

QUETTA: In a dramatic development, the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI)’s ticket holder for Senate election, Syed Zahoor Agha, withdrew his nomination papers along with three candidates of the Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) on Thursday.
Mr Agha was awarded PTI ticket after the party withdrew its ticket from business tycoon Mohammad Abdul Qadir following strong opposition to his nomination from the Balochistan chapter of the party.
Spokesman for the Balochistan government, Liaquat Shahwani said in his tweet that Mr Agha had withdrawn from the contest in favour of the BAP. He said that BAP President Jam Kamal Alyani had requested the PTI leadership for withdrawing its candidate in favour of his party. ....
