Hard seltzer maker Ranch Rider Spirits has appointed former Deep Eddy Vodka president John Scarborough as its new CEO.
John Scarborough has been named CEO of Ranch Rider Spirits
In 2011, he worked as chief financial officer for the vodka maker and was tasked with leading the company’s operations, financial management and planning functions.
Before joining Deep Eddy, Scarborough worked in roles including financial and operations leadership positions in publishing, telecoms and e-commerce.
Scarborough said: “Ranch Rider is a standout product in the RTD [ready-to-drink] market, and I am excited to be joining this fantastic team ready to execute a vision for growth that’s as strong as the brand. ....

Ranch Rider Spirits Names Former Deep Eddy President John Scarborough as New CEO


Scarborough will guide the company through expansion into eight new markets, including California and Florida.

With barely any comment, the Philadelphia Board of Education unanimously denied five new charter school applications Thursday after hearing scathing critiques of all of them from the district’s reviewers.
Christina Grant, head of the district’s charter school office, described all of the applications as deficient either in their planned academic program, operations, finances, or evidence of community support sometimes in all four areas. The office doesn’t directly recommend denial or approval, but these evaluations had few positive things to say. ....

2020 hindsight: A look back at a tumultuous year


The end of 2020 couldn’t get here fast enough for many. It’s been the year of the toilet paper shortage, face masks, quarantines, job losses and political strife. It will be remembered as the Presidential election year when a pandemic altered life for people across the globe.
