MARION In an effort to curb potential for dense housing that Board Chair William Saltonstall said could scar the Marion landscape, the Planning Board has moved forward a bylaw change which would restrict high-density housing developments.
The change would reduce the allowable density in Marion from 12 units per acre to six, which is similar to the current density of housing in town.
For instance, the single family houses at Marion Village Estates were developed around six units per acre, and many of the houses on Main Street are also on lots which measure out to about six houses per acre. ....

MARION School expenses, the Benson Brook Transfer Station and water revenue highlighted conversation about the town’s budget at a Feb. 2 Selectmen’s meeting.
Town administrator Jay McGrail and Town Accountant Judy Mooney presented an unbalanced budget to the Selectmen, which detailed a small budget increase for the 2022 fiscal year.
Despite the bump, the budget increase remains lower than 2019’s increase of nearly 6%.
“Even with a bump at about 3.1 we’re still down from where we were,” McGrail said. ....

Four-time British Touring Car champion Colin Turkington will remain with the West Surrey Racing-run BMW team for 2021 - his 14th season under the WSR umbrella.
And while the BTCC is upping its maximum level of success ballast back to its pre-2019 level of 75kg, WSR boss Dick Bennetts says that will pose no problem for the 330i M Sport.
Turkington won his third title in 2018 with the 125i M Sport on a maximum of 75kg, before driving the brand-new 330i to glory in 2019, when the top ballast level reduced to 54kg. ....
