Music, fishing, helicopters and toys all make up this weekendâs area lineup of events. Miles for Heroes is presenting Freedom Fest 2021 in Scribner. Miles for Heroes is a nonprofit organization which is dedicated to getting Nebraska veterans into the outdoors. Freedom Fest begins with an outdoor concert at 7 p.m. Friday in downtown Scribner. The featured acts are Aaron Copeland, Dylan Bloom, and Whiskey Bent. Copeland was a member of the Casey Donahew Band for six years before branching out to chase his own musical dreams. He now travels with his own band and has finished the process of recording his debut EP. ....
The first weekend in May is jam packed with activities. From a coin show and a living history presentation to a vintage festival and an art open house, this weekend has something for everyone. Hereâs a rundown of events to help you plan your weekend: Coin show The Fremont Coin Clubâs 62nd Annual Coin Show will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Christensen Field Main Arena. There will be approximately 20 coin dealers attending the show from Nebraska and surrounding states. Items that will be available for purchase will include collector coins, gold and silver coins and bullion, supplies, tokens, old currency, world coins, and other collectable items. The coin show offers the community an opportunity not only to purchase coins, but also to sell their own coins to dealers attending the show. ....

And when it goes on display next year, the radar-resistant F-117 Nighthawk will help put a bookend on the museumâs Cold War collection, which includes the conflictâs early icons the U2 spy plane and supersonic SR-71. âThis really is, for us, a major part of telling the stealth story that started in the Cold War,â John Lefler Jr., the museumâs marketing manager, said Monday. âShort of saying this is the Holy Grail, this is an extremely important piece for us to have.â ....
