Confrontation at local business leads to arrest

Written By: Leah Ward | × Fuerst WORTHINGTON A Wednesday afternoon report of a man who was trespassing and acting disorderly at a local business prompted a response by several officers from the Worthington Police Department and the Nobles County Sheriff s Office. Law enforcement were informed upon arrival at Highland Manufacturing that the suspect, identified as John Fuerst, 61, of Rushmore, had fled the scene. A victim stated that upon leaving work, they had found Fuerst waiting for them at their vehicle. Fuerst allegedly grabbed the victim by the throat and threatened to kill them, then tried to pulled them into Fuerst s vehicle. It was also reported that Fuerst told the victim he owns several weapons.
