Injuries claimed in fall from scooter while aboard Bi-State bus

BELLEVILLE Bi-State and one of its bus drivers are facing a suit after a passenger claims he was thrown from his motorized scooter and suffered severe injuries.   Leonard Smith filed a complaint April 9 in the Twentieth Judicial Circuit for St. Clair County against Bi-State Regional Development Agency and Terry Perry alleging negligence.  Smith alleges in his complaint that he was a passenger on a vehicle operated by Bi-State employee Terry Perry when he was violently thrown from his motorized scooter and struck his head. He claims he suffered severe and permanent injuries to his head, neck and back which aggravated a pre-existing medical condition and has also incurred medical expenses as a result of the accident.

Former BNSF Railway employee sues over alleged work-related injuries

BELLEVILLE BNSF Railway is accused of negligence after a former employee claims he suffered severe injuries to his face.  Bennie Graham filed a complaint  Dec. 10 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against BNSF Railway Company, alleging negligence.  According to the complaint, Graham was a maintenance of way worker for BNSF. He alleges that on Dec. 20, 2017, he was working near Dundee, Mo., and was manually removing a metal clip that secures a railroad tie when he was severely and permanently injured.  Graham claims he suffered injuries to his face, which has caused him great pain and mental anguish and disability. He also claims he suffered loss of income and has incurred medical expenses due to his injuries.
