Glenn Cronauer, 80, of Bear Creek Twp., passed away peacefully Thursday, Jan. 28, 2021, at his home, with his wife by his side, after a courageous battle against cancer. He was born in Plains Twp. and attended Plains High School. He worked on the Delaware & Hudson/Canadian Pacific Railroad as a brakeman/conductor for 28 years and served as local chairman for UTU Local 859. A generous man, he helped anyone who needed it. He liked old western TV shows and movies and built an impressive collection of old magazines from the genre. He also took great pleasure in all the James Bond novels and movies. He told dad Jokes long before they were referred to as dad jokes. He coached minor league baseball for Bear/Buck Little League and was a head coach for Bear Creek Flag Football. He faithfully followed the Philadelphia Eagles, Philadelphia Phillies and Penn State football and had fun seeing games in person or watching them on TV with his son. He loved watching his grandson play youth ....
47abc January 13, 2021 TYASKIN, Md.- A local Maryland restaurant was filled with people Wednesday evening, as they came to celebrate the reopening of Boonies, which closed over a year ago after a truck crashed into it. “I think it’s just great to get everybody back together and get the community back together with us and start off the new year,” John Knorr, the co-owner of Boonies said. We are told by Knorr that the Tyaskin restaurant had to shut down the interior because of the damage. Since having to close their doors, they rebuilt and remodeled the place. “The unfortunate part was it put a lot of our staff out of work for quite awhile, but we’ve got them back and I think our redesign and our new menu will actually boost our employment out here,” Knorr said. ....
