In the October 2 1978 issue of Forbes Magazine, he recounted a story sent in by a reader about a Mr Womack, a farmer who had never lost money in the stock market “following a technique which was the ultimate in simplicity” yet had resulted in some stocks making “long-term capital gains of 100%, 200% and even 500%”.

WADDINGTON The family of Edward C. Kahrs Sr., age 70, of French Rd. are deeply saddened to report his passing, after a lengthy illness on Friday May 14, 2021 at Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center, Ogdensburg. The family has entrusted funeral arrangements to the care and direction of the Phillips Memorial Home, Waddington.
Ed was born to the late Charles and Dorothy (O’Brien) Kahrs in Brooklyn, NY on November 12, 1950.
He attended school in Long Island and later was enlisted into the United States Navy and served his country proudly during the Vietnam Conflict. Upon his return he met the love of his life Barbara Valenta in 1972. On April 28, 1973, they were joined in marriage in Patchogue, NY on Long Island. They moved shortly thereafter to the North Country. ....

May 3 is observed every year as International Press Freedom Day to remind us of the challenges journalists are faced with everyday in bringing the news to our doorstep. But despite it all, a defiant and courageous press continues to prove beyond doubt; that truth has the power to shed light on the darkest pits and corners of our world; and so inspite of the contrivance of these monolithic regimes, yet no corner in the world has been left untouched by these journalists who take such steadfast personal risks to bring truth to light the world ....
