The proposals must be in fields where there is a strong workforce need, and no nearby four year college with a similar program.
Cincinnati State was of the first community colleges to apply, requesting bachelor s degrees in land surveying and in culinary and food science. Both proposals have since been approved, and officials say the first culinary and food science bachelor s degrees will be awarded in spring 2023. ....

Why does art matter? In distressing times, we see more value in art. It is escapist, but also restorative, evolutionary as it is revolutionary. As John Tusa once wrote, “The arts matter, because they are universal; because they are non-material; because they deal with daily experience in a transforming way; because they question the way we look at the world; because they offer different explanations of that world…”

There is also an increase in hobby artists or people who do art at home purely for the fun of it. And of course, there’s the presence of countless galleries, design shops, museums, and other art spaces scattered all over th ....

SIR – Reading between the lines, it looks as though the AstraZeneca plant in Belgium is having scale-up problems. Hence its “best efforts” fall well short of the EU’s belated order.
With our astounding success at securing supplies of vaccines, why don’t we offer to divert any excess UK-made supplies to the EU – provided it cuts the unnecessary bureaucracy on our exports? ....
