Noida: Highrises in sectors 76, 119, 120, including Prateek Wisteria, Gaur Grandeur, Prateek Laurel, and places like Arun Vihar (sectors 28, 29 and 37) have been reporting between 40 and 90 cases each for the past few days. Residents have demanded that the places be sanitised and testing camps be held in areas with more cases. The Jan Shakti Sewa Samiti, a residents’ body, has written to UP CM Yogi Adityanath requesting that all hospitals in Gautam Budh Nagar be brought directly under the district administration for better monitoring of the situation. They have also suggested that community centres and clubs be used as testing facilities and for other related work. ....
The Jan Shakti Seva Samiti (JSSS), a local residents’ body in Noida has written to Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman demanding removal of 18 per cent service tax levied on mediclaim policies in the country. The residents’ body urged that apart from job loss and economic repercussions due to Covid-19 lockdown, residents are also burdened with additional health expenditure due to Covid-19 pandemic. Given the situation, the 18 per cent service tax on health policies should be done away with. The Jan Shakti Seva Samiti has written a letter to Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman. Through the letter, the committee has demanded the removal of 18 per cent service tax levied on mediclaim policy in the country. ....
